Good - Ocean's Eleven Reviews

Ocean's Eleven has this charm that just makes you root for the crooks, as opposed to many other movies where thieves and murderers are all alike. Ruthless and cold. The category of "thief" movies are more commonly described as the gangster/crime genre, but how can you compare movies like the Godfather and Dog Day Afternoons to a completely different stlye of crime. In "thief" movies, there is no killing or anything that is undeserved. However, thief movies all have basically the same plot like, steal from a rich, powerful and cruel tycoon of some sort, and bring some justice to him. It just gets tiring after a while. George Clooney is excellent as a fast talking con man in this movie, along with the rest of the cast. They are smooth, sophisticated, have a good sense of morals (for the most part) and a certain method of getting what they want most of the time. The movie lets the viewer have a good sense of what Las Vegas is like. A giant playplace for those who have money and a good sense of fun. The other locations such as St. Petersburg or Los Angeles have fitting music that goes well with the atmosphere. Ocean's Eleven was made to let you see from the criminal's point of view, and let you sympathize with them. This movie would be good to see if you are feeling depressed or just in the mood for good music.
