Mistake in my previous review - Ocean's Eleven Reviews

I made a mistake in my previous review when I said that Ocean's Twelve was better than the first because in this movie the Clooney-Pitt chemistry was unbeatable, along with an amazing cast of characters. The movie was a re-make of an old Frank Sinatra film which I didn't see so I can't compare storylines. Other than how Pitt was always eating and some of the childish scenes, there's not much I remember about the movie except that I liked it, and it was a great catchy sort of crime/gangster movie where you are rooting for the bad guys and it is amazing how they worked out the whole scheme. With an all-star team including Pitt, Clooney, Bernie Mac, Andy Garcia and Julia Roberts, there's a lot here for anyone.

Dan Ocean's (George Clooney) plan is to rob one of Las Vegas' wealthiest men, or is he trying to win back the heart of his ex-wife. Either or he has something up his sleeve. Rusty Ryan (Brad Pitt) has agreed to help him along with nine other genius' with different speacialities. All eleven of them, extremely smart and clever, however, always manages to screw up on at least one situation. Clooney's character acts like a leader and father figure at the same time, which brings to male bonding among the eleven gentlemen. Tess Ocean (Julia Roberts) now has to decide whether or not she wants to stay with Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia) who owns three of the finest casinos in all of Las Vegas. The view points were excellent making the audience feel as if they were working side by side with Clooney and Pitt, the story couldn't have been more clever, just like the eleven men. Clooney definitrely knew what he was doing as well as Pitt and Roberts. Garcia was given a stunning outfit which gave him the look of wealth. Every scene that Roberts appeared in, her wardobe seemed to have blended in with the background as if Garcia had seen her as he sees his casino, an award or symbol of his success.

The movie was a "cool picture" that had well-timed humour but great action sequences. A very suspenseful movie. I never wanted to leave the seat for any reason in fear of missing something good. It was a clever movie and I liked the cast, everyone did well, the only thing was Don Cheadle's accent, I didn't really ever buy that British accent he was putting on. Otherwise good.

I watched oceans eleven first thinking it would be another smash and grab job but i was wrong the movie took a setting that i was sort of expecting but i was not all the way there i love how they started the movie danny getting out of the clink ot also took a setting of al these criminal master minds that were on one job but all yes it was veye interresting how they planned evereything and how it all flowed by they had some problems u know not everything is perfect i also like that all of them acted like professionals at these job not like some moron trying to rob a liquor store i give this movie a A+ but one thing to it you have to listen waths going on if your with your friend talking you will not get the catch and youll probably drop the whole thing

So some may think this film was going to be as lackluster as the orginal Rat Pack version (no knocking the Rat Pack but seriously, it could of been better) but leave it to the genius of George Clooney & Steven Soderbergh to give us this wonderous gem of a film. The storyline, while somewhat like the orginal, was unique and quite refreshing...especally after the cheesy fare that we were subject to in the weeks following the 9/11 attacks. Acting was brillant & so was the directing. Why this movie didn't get an Oscar nom...we may never know.
